Baseball | College Park Clinches Lead In 5th Inning To Defeat Pearce in Game 1 of the Best of 3 Seri


Richardson, Tx. The College Park Cavaliers took the lead late in the game in a 9-5 victory over the Pearce Mustangs Friday night. In the top of the 5th Josh Trahan's sac fly scored 1 run for College Park.

In the 1st inning, the Cavaliers got their offense started. College Park scored 3 runs when Luke Repka homered. Pearce evened things up at 5 in the bottom of the 3rd inning when Winger singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring 1 run.

Starter Brandon Garza, earned the victory on the pitcher's mound for the Cavaliers. He surrendered 5 runs on 8 hits over 5 innings, striking out 6 and walking 0. Noah Serafin threw 2 innings in relief out of the bullpen. Serafin recorded the last 6 outs to earn the save for College Park Cavaliers Varsity.

Price took the loss for Pearce. He surrendered 8 runs on 9 hits over 6 innings, striking out 8 and walking 1.

College Park Cavaliers Varsity socked 2 home runs on the day. Repka had a dinger in the 1st inning. Luke Trahan had a homer in the 2nd inning. College Park Cavaliers Varsity tallied 10 hits. Jake Schill and Michael Loggins all had multiple hits for College Park Cavaliers Varsity. Schill led College Park Cavaliers Varsity with 3 hits in 4 at bats.

Pearce racked up 9 hits. Taylor Davis, Davis, and Ableman all managed multiple hits for Pearce.
