College Park Baseball & Softball Teams Honor Educators on Teachers Night

Commemorative ceremonies, ballpark burgers, and big wins highlight a special evening on campus

COLLEGE PARK – Tuesday, April 8, 2025

The College Park High School baseball and softball teams hosted a heartfelt Teachers Night celebration, honoring the educators who have made a lasting impact on student-athletes.

The celebration began on the baseball field, where each player escorted their chosen teacher onto the diamond. As they stood together, the announcer shared personalized messages from the players, explaining why they selected each educator. Players and teachers then posed for commemorative photos before lining up for the playing of the national anthem.

Over on the softball field, teachers were introduced one by one and took part in a ceremonial first pitch, tossing the ball to the student-athlete who invited them. Afterward, the entire softball team and their teachers gathered for a group photo to capture the moment.

It all took place on a beautiful April afternoon, with sunshine, school spirit, and the smell of hamburgers sizzling on the grill drifting through the air. Teachers were treated to a classic ballpark experience, enjoying the game alongside students, families, and fans.

Both teams capped off the event with dominant wins on the field:

  • College Park Baseball defeated Cleveland High School 11–2

  • College Park Softball rolled past Caney Creek High School with a decisive 15–2 victory
