Nine Cavaliers commit to continue athletic careers in college

The Woodlands, Texas — College Park High School hosted its Spring 2025 National Signing Day ceremony on Wednesday morning in front of a gymnasium full of family, friends, coaches, and faculty. The event marked the official college commitments of nine student-athletes across six sports.
The ceremony, organized by Athletic Director Kyle Coats, featured introductions and remarks by each sport’s head coach, highlighting the hard work and achievements of each signee. The atmosphere was celebratory, with parents filling the bleachers and proudly capturing every moment on their phones.

Teammates and classmates cheered loudly after each name was called, waving signs, clapping, and shouting encouragement as each athlete stepped forward. The gym buzzed with energy and pride as friends and family supported the signees with applause and hugs. and remarks by each sport’s head coach, highlighting the hard work and achievements of each signee. After coaches spoke, student-athletes signed their letters of intent and posed for photos with teammates and family.
Nine College Park student-athletes signed their National Letters of Intent in a gym packed with family, friends, and coaches.
Wrestling had the largest group of signees with three athletes committing. Coach Erik Spjut praised all three, beginning with Anna Vogt, who signed with Oklahoma City University to study nursing. Vogt is one of College Park’s most decorated wrestlers, with 163 career wins, two state titles, and eight All-American honors. She currently ranks 13th nationally and holds a 3.5 GPA.
Violet and Vanessa de la Cruz, both wrestlers, were scheduled to sign but chose to decommit due to a coaching change at their intended college. They are currently considering other offers.
Tristan Rios, headed to Tarleton State University to major in accounting, recorded 178 career wins and was a four-time state qualifier and team captain. Allistair Mohmed will wrestle at Thomas More University while studying business analytics. He earned 115 career wins and contributed to several team victories.
On the track, Coach Mike Gibson introduced Zoe Norman, who signed with Pepperdine University in California. Norman, one of the state’s top 400m runners, also competes in relays and multiple other events, balancing her athletic success with academic excellence.
Baseball coach Mike Faherty spoke about Ty Easley, a three-year varsity player known for his dedication to batting practice. Easley will continue his career at Indian Hills College in Iowa.
Cheer coach Abi Kolb introduced Olivia Dolphin, a four-year cheerleader and member of the competition team, who signed with the University of Minnesota. Kolb noted her pride in seeing Dolphin cheer for the Gophers next year.
Sam Frye committed to the University of Texas in Austin but was not present, having received confirmation just hours before the ceremony.
Boys Soccer Coach Mike Jaskowiak introduced Issac Guillory, who overcame a junior-year injury to have a strong senior season and will play for Quincy University in Illinois, and Alejandro Escobar, a four-year starter and unanimous district MVP, who committed to Saint Francis University in Pennsylvania.
Girls Soccer Coach Meredith Cook presented Miranda Becerra, a 3-year varsity player and academic all-district honoree with five goals this season. She will continue her soccer journey at the University of South Carolina Sumter.
Congratulations to all the student-athletes on this major milestone. National Signing Day is a nationwide event, where student-athletes across the country sign their National Letters of Intent (NLI) to officially commit to college athletic programs. This ceremony represents the culmination of years of training, dedication, and support from families, coaches, and school communities. It is a proud moment not just for the athletes, but for everyone who helped them reach this step toward their future.
