College Park’s student entrepreneurs assist event organizers while growing real-world skills

The Woodlands, Texas – Members of the DICE Club at The Woodlands College Park High School spent the weekend supporting the Waterway Arts Festival, assisting organizers by collecting attendee surveys and capturing visual media content.

Working alongside festival staff, DICE students were responsible for documenting the event through photography and video while also engaging with attendees to gather feedback about the festival experience. The opportunity provided students with a practical outlet to apply skills in content creation, communications, and data collection.
DICE, which stands for Directing Innovation and Community Empowerment, is a student-led entrepreneurship club founded through MIT’s LaunchX initiative. The organization connects high school students with local businesses and nonprofits, offering them hands-on experience in marketing, event planning, software development, and consulting.
The club’s projects vary throughout the year, with past partners including Children’s Safe Harbor, Bears Etc., the Kailee Mills Foundation, Montgomery County Food Bank, and ARCpoint Labs. Club members regularly contribute to real-world initiatives that enhance both their leadership capabilities and their understanding of business strategy.
As DICE continues to grow its network across Montgomery County, it remains focused on preparing students for future careers in business, technology, and community leadership through applied learning experiences.
