Unleash Curiosity: The Woodlands Children's Museum and John Cooper School Launch Dream and Build Exhibit

A New World of Imagination and Learning Opens for The Woodlands’ Young Minds

The exhibit, a blend of art and science, features a 15-foot sculpted dragon and walk-through castle towers, forming a magical backdrop for the children's adventures. The heart of the exhibit is its interactive building blocks, crafted in over 20 shapes and sizes. These pieces, including bricks, cylinders, and channels, are not just playthings but tools for learning and discovery.

Angela Colton, Executive Director of The Woodlands Children’s Museum, remarked, “This partnership embodies our commitment to early learning and a child's innate curiosity. We're creating a space where families can embark on an enchanting journey of creativity.”

The exhibit's design emphasizes the importance of play in learning. Studies link block play with enhanced math skills, language development, and social growth. Dave Dunlap, Chairman of The Woodlands Children’s Museum Board of Directors, underscored the exhibit's role in introducing young minds to early math, science, and engineering concepts.

Dr. Stephen Popp, Head of The John Cooper School, highlighted the value of community partnerships in achieving educational excellence. “This collaboration with the museum is a crucial step in nurturing young innovators and collaborators,” he stated.

The John Cooper School, known for its challenging and caring educational environment, sees this exhibit as an extension of its mission to develop critical and creative thinkers, effective communicators, responsible citizens, and lifelong learners.
