Annual Award Ceremony Celebrates Student Achievement and Community Service
On April 25, the Rotary Club of The Woodlands hosted its prestigious Students of the Year Awards Luncheon at The Woodlands Country Club, marking twenty years of recognizing outstanding achievements by local high school students.
This celebratory event honored students from Woodlands Christian Academy, Oak Ridge High School, John Cooper School, The Woodlands High School, College Park High School, Grand Oaks High School, and iSchool High - The Woodlands. Selected for their exceptional community service, character, and leadership, these students were celebrated in a gathering that included school and district administrators, as well as the proud families and friends of the awardees. After receiving their awards, each school's group of students posed for a commemorative photo.
The festivities were presided over by Rotary Club President Kay Boehm-Fannin and Conroe ISD board member Theresa Wagaman, with Todd Bryant serving as the master of ceremonies.
President Boehm-Fannin expressed her enthusiasm: "Each year, we are thrilled to celebrate the remarkable contributions of these young leaders, who continue to impress with their dedication to both academic excellence and community service."
Special attention was given to the seniors during the ceremony. School principals or administrators introduced each senior, highlighting their significant accomplishments and future plans for college and careers. Each graduating senior was awarded a $1,000 scholarship, recognizing their dedication and commitment to their academic and community endeavors.
The luncheon concluded with the presentation of commemorative plaques to all honored students, with seniors additionally receiving scholarships. This annual event not only celebrates the achievements of these young individuals but also reinforces the Rotary Club's commitment to fostering leadership and service in The Woodlands community.
