Annual luncheon celebrates leadership, service, and academic excellence
DATELINE: Thursday, April 24, 2025, 11:30 a.m.
The Woodlands, Texas – The Rotary Club of The Woodlands hosted its 2025 Student of the Year Luncheon on Thursday, recognizing outstanding students from local high schools for their academic achievements, leadership, and commitment to community service.
Held at The Woodlands Country Club, the luncheon was filled to capacity, highlighting the popularity of the event. To accommodate all participants, students were limited to inviting one guest.
Students from Oak Ridge High School, Grand Oaks High School, iSchool High The Woodlands, The John Cooper School, The Woodlands Christian Academy, The Woodlands High School, and The Woodlands College Park High School were honored.
Each school's principal introduced their students as they received certificates recognizing their contributions to their schools and the community. Two seniors from each school were also awarded a $1,000 scholarship for exemplifying Rotary's ideal of "Service Above Self."
Rotary Club President Denton Florian welcomed attendees and praised the students’ commitment to service and leadership. During the event, senior scholarship recipients shared brief reflections on their school experiences, future aspirations, and the impact of community service on their lives.
The luncheon reaffirmed The Rotary Club’s commitment to fostering leadership, character, and service among young people in the community.
