Conroe ISD teams shine at FIRST in Texas event in Houston

Conroe, Texas – FRC Team 1477 Texas Torque is advancing to the 2025 FIRST Robotics World Championship after a strong showing at the FIRST in Texas Championship, held this past weekend.

The team, which works out of the Conroe ISD Robotics Facility located at College Park High School, competed alongside fellow Conroe ISD teams: College Park High School’s 7492 CavBots and The Woodlands High School’s 9418 Pastabots.
All three local teams earned notable honors. Texas Torque was selected in the first round of alliance picks and also received the prestigious Quality Award, which celebrates outstanding machine robustness in design and fabrication.

CavBots also earned a first-round draft pick and took home the Judge’s Award, which is presented to teams with unique efforts or performance deserving of recognition. The Pastabots served as an alliance captain, highlighting their leadership and robot performance during playoffs.
The 2025 FIRST Championship will be held from Wednesday, April 17 through Saturday, April 19 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston. The event is free and open to the public, welcoming students, families, and fans of science and technology from across the world.
