Houston, Texas – The University of Houston earned national recognition this week with 15 of its graduate programs ranked among the top 50 in the country, according to the 2025 edition of U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Graduate Schools” rankings released Wednesday morning.

The updated rankings include standout recognition for three UH programs ranked in the top 10 nationwide: part-time law (No. 5), petroleum engineering (No. 7), and health care law (No. 9). The announcement highlights UH’s growing national presence across a range of academic fields.

Nine specialty programs at the UH Law Center placed in the top 50, including three recognized as the best in Texas: part-time law, health care law, and legal writing. The Cullen College of Engineering and the C.T. Bauer College of Business also received multiple program recognitions.

UH Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost Diane Z. Chase attributed the achievement to the strength of the university’s faculty and student body, noting that the rankings reflect UH’s role in preparing students for high-demand fields.
